Deep Political Polarization In America

A product of immigration.

The bonds that once helped produce political consensus have gradually eroded, replaced by competing camps that live in parallel universes, have sharply divergent world views and express more distrust of opponents than they did decades ago. Many activists describe the stakes in apocalyptic terms.

Pete Wehner, an official in the White House under President George W. Bush, said there is now a huge premium among the most conservative wing of his party to fight for the sake of fighting. “People feel like we’re losing our country,” he said. “That’s not my view, but it is the view of a lot of people, and it moves them to be pugilistic, to be more combative and more confrontational. They believe there’s a huge amount at stake.”

The polarization will continue once the Democrats achieve majority control of the House. But the Republicans won't matter any more. What is going on now with the Republican refusing to compromise is akin to a last ditch stand of losing army. This could go on for some years. But eventually the demographic transformation of America wrought by immigration will leave the majority of whites with little say as the Democrats try to ramp up the welfare state. The Democrats will enjoy a Pyrrhic victory though as a rising fraction of the total population become net dependents on the state, paying little in taxes and getting lots of welfare state benefits.

The conservatives currently are up against an administration that has gone to the most extreme measures to prevent government employees from leaking to the press. It is amazing how strongly Obama opposes letting even a heavily biased liberal press from reporting what his government is doing.

Are we just on a path of decline? Or are we on a road to disunion? I figure the decline can go on for a long time before disunion becomes a possibility.

To forestall disunion all that really needs to be recognized is the original intent of the union which, clearly, in a land-limited era, not only needs to devolve virtually all Federal programs, but also needs to recognize not only national borders but state borders as barriers to migration. That would be the first step toward a reinvigorated laboratory of the states thence to Sortocracy: Sorting proponents of social theories into governments that test them.

The best way to achieve this short of a full-scale revolution would be a single act that turned all unconstitutional Federal programs into Government corporations in the mode of FNMA -- but no bail-outs permitted. The States could then pursue acquisition of those functions as each sees fit.

The program for overcoming intransigence toward the Constitution needs to involve an internet-based shadow Judiciary consisting of identified citizens wielding open, revocable proxies on specific resolutions, indictments, judgments and sentences. Carrying out the sentences would have to be almost entirely covert and the actors would have to be entirely dissociated from the shadow Judiciary so as to avoid charges of conspiracy against the authorities exercising proxy power (or direct power when they've revoked proxy on some specific issue) in the shadow Judiciary.

Wener must have had this sense, that the government was pushing the conservative base too far while he was in the Bush administration, but of course neither he nor any of the other Bush/Rove/Norquist/... factotums could give a damn and counsel the Bush administration to halt on its three failed attempts at mass amnesty and immigration. All they cared about was the greater glory of the Bush circle and that vision thing.

I damn the Republicans to hell. They can't disappear soon enough.

the breakup of the federal union is the best thing that could happen to the white majority. The seminal documents of the USA make it clear that the Articles of Confederation were discarded because they were allowing the working class to gain the upper hand over the elite through the use of increased democracy. The so called founding "fathers" hated democracy. The majority bloc has always been the prime enemy of the elite.

The federal union was created so as to increase the number of factions in electoral districts through enlargement of said districts, thereby decreasing unity and thereby decreasing democracy.

Look at how unified small and homogeneous white nations of western europe are. They are the proof of that theory.

The white majority is still the enemy of the elite. We stand in the way of even more mass immigration and subsequent flooding of the labor supply.

Mass immigration is also the greatest factionalizing tool the elite have, combined with civil rights laws. Factionalization decreases unity, decreasing democracy.

The white lower middle class is the last obstacle to total domination. The white educated class have their brains transformed with years of edu-propaganda to the degree that many of them have been rendered into tools of elite ideology dissemination.

The end game? The only play the white lower middle class has is the tool it is now wielding--sabot-age: throwing metaphorical wooden shoes --sabots of ideology--into the maw of the federal machine.

I should clarify one thing about the constitution of the shadow Judiciary:

All members of the shadow Judiciary should be honor-bound to formally and publicly report to the "authorities" of the de facto government any and all attempts to discuss suggest "illegal" activity to them.

That is the only practical means of maintaining clear dissociation from actors thereby avoiding charges of conspiracy.

PS: For the hard of clicking, the aforelinked "South Africa might be the freest country in the world." is to a video on Orania -- an Afrikaner enclave in South Africa that is protected by the South African constitution's sanction of "self-determination". It is highly likely this kind of self-determination would not be allowed in any other country in the world.

I think this is a generational thing as much as anything.

Young people I talk to don't frame the issue this way. They don't say "white people benefit from this" and "brown people benefit from that".

They say "this is my view of the world", and it never occurred to them to be afraid of a future where white people are the minority.
