Mickey Kaus: Time To Wake Up Against Immigration Amnesty

Time to rouse up and send emails and phone calls against the latest push for immigration amnesty. This worked in 2007. It could work now. Phone calls. Emails. Physical letters. Post cards. Let them know you are there and care.

Thereís a list of Senate phone numbers and emails here. Numbers USA has a handy page that lets you send a fax here. The Capitol switchboard is 202 224-3121.

Ignore the fóing scandals for a few days and save the country from Chuck Schumer.

I'm with Mickey. Hey fellow bloggers, do a post on this. Ask other blogger you know to do the same. Send emails to your friends with the contact info.

Immigrants, even if they are illegal immigrants pay taxes and contribute to the economy even more than many citizens. The real danger for the country is not illegal immigrants, but all those white-collar parasites like politicians, corporation owners and religious ministers. Those f-ing lowlifes are the ones who do nothing and use up all the resources for themselves wastefully. Their crimes are far worse than those by they who cross the border to work for under minimum wage.

So go make your complaint call and write your complaint emails while the real parasites fill their pools and drive their Mercedes.

"U.S. health care expenditures are around $12 per hour for the entire economy. The minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. If a minimum wage worker paid 100% of his income in taxes (or health care premiums), America would still lose $4.75 [per hour] on health care costs alone.

...Of course, it can be argued that low-skill immigrants donít cost $12 per hour in health care costs. As long as they are young and single that is true. However, low-skill immigrants have children and grow old just like everyone else. Even if they donít cost $12 per hour in health care costs now, they will cost far more than $12 per hour in the future."

You must mean sales taxes, you know, like, when they buy taco shells at the grocery store. It can't be income tax, because they're in the country unbeknownst to the IRS, being present here illegally, so filing a return would be problematic.

I guess the greater economic contribution must be allowing their emplolyer to pay them off the books, thereby skirting paying withholding taxes. Not to mention, if you're in the country illegally, filing an tax return would draw heat one would think, so why would one do that? Unless somehow they've hijacked a ligitimate social security number and correlated it with their mailing address, which would allow them to receive IRS refunds. Doing something like all that, though, is against the law, go-to-the-penitentiary against the law, I would assume.

But who knows. Doing that is illegal and they're here illegally, so who cares, I guess. Since border enforcement has essentially been rescinded by executive fiat for years, now, maybe they're ("those good-hearted people just doing the work Americans won't do," as Jorge Busheron used to say) getting a gigantic break, one that's not available for actual citizens, who the IRS rides with spurs.

I hate this simplistic view "they pay taxes, therefore there is no problem". Even if immigrants as a whole are net payers into the system, it ignored the hidden cost connected with unemployed americans who live in welfare. I would like to see a comparison of the overall net contribution of immigrants and the additional welfare payments that have to be made for the people who get unemployed due to additional competition.

See? This is the kind of simplistic, lazy-ass talk obese minded idiots have learned to utter. Talk about simplistic.

James, go order another pizza with that giant size coke that's dripping down your loud-chewing mouth. Same goes for all of you outdated neo-libs who stayed back in the 90s.

Immigrants (like your ancestors) made America great, whether you nazi pricks like it or not. Learn who your real enemies are: POLITICIANS, CORPORATION OWNERS and RELIGIOUS MINISTERS, but in order to see that, you first have to get your head out of your ass.

Wake the fuck up and look at your country. Then take a look around your world.

And what do politicians, corporation owners and religious ministers all have in common? They love immigration. No reason why immigrants cannot be included in the enemies' lists.

Immigrants aren't good for the economy. All the growth created from their labor is consumed by the immigrants themselves. Moreover, their presence lowers wages for Americans by over $400 Billion per year. Politicians and corporations only want immigration to drive down wages.

JJ said at June 13, 2013 9:33 PM:

When these "immigrants" vote in a Hugo Chavez how is that going to help the economy?

The very fact that we can only talk about the alleged economic impact of immigration means we have already lost the argument. Remember the old joke that ended with the punchline "We've already established what you are, we're just haggling over the price." PC so controls debate in this country that they can dictate the acceptable limits of that debate to their victims. Democracy is irrelevant with such a power imbalance.

Which brings us to . . . The Republicans don't support open borders because of cheap labor, they do so because they're afraid of being called racists by the totalitarian noise machine. They don't seriously oppose ANY issue that is touched by race, and since most political issues are touched by race (or can be made to be) it doesn't leave them with much more than the desperate tactic of starting wars overseas in order to pretend to their voters that they're still relevant, still have power within the system. Bombs are certainly a display of power, though it's not the sort of power that will do conservatism any good. It's a Tragedy of the Commons problem - sucking up to the vicious media for tactical wins today even though doing so will clearly destroy you in the long run. Or maybe it's a Tragedy FOR the Commons problem. I'm sure Republicans secretly love the cheap labor theory because it (like the "Stupid Party" label) helps mask their fundamental crookedness.

I'm sorry Randall that you are so frightened of immigration. Still, even if you don't like it you'll just have to deal with it. Immigration is a fact of today's world and it's here to stay whether you like it or not, and there's nothing you or anybody can do about it. It is just part of natural anthropological forces worldwide. Make no mistake, in the near future it is not you who will decide or not to put up with immigrants, but immigrants will choose if they want to put up with you, just like your white immigrant forefathers did with the Native Americans. It would be they, the Native Americans, who have a priority right to citizenship, and I'm sorry, but Mexicans for example and others South of the Borderers have more Native American blood than you. We can really say that Mexicans, Peruvians or Venezuelans are in fact more American than you. Many of them are direct Native American descendants.

So start educating your children into tolerance and interest for other cultures and peoples or they will be just as frustrated as you, constantly believing you're being invated by foreigners who will supposedly destroy the economy.

The world has really become a global village Randall. Nations in today's world have become obsolete and outdated just like the gasoline engine became 30 years ago or just like slavery became so, back in the 19th century, although there are many in the South who still haven't noticed.

Hispanic Descendant said at June 14, 2013 9:29 AM:

What Randall and many others hate about immigrants is not that they're immigrants, but that they're poor. Randall actually loves immigrants, but only if they're rich, like Desi Arnaz, Andy Garcia and John Lennon. He must think that rich immigrant deceivers like Benny Hinn or Henry Kissinger are just fine, because they are rich and famous.

So let's be honest about Randall's materialistic decaying values and say that what he really hates is poor people, just for being poor. Most immigrants are hated because they are poor at first. He should have the guts to say that people without money don't have any value for him. We Americans stop discriminating an immigrant the minute we see him in a designer suit, doing big business, appearing on the screen, driving expensive cars, flying to exotic destinations for vacation and living in Hollywood mansion houses.

Money is where we get our values from.

The Native Americans of the USA, such as the Huron, Lakota and Dineh, are not the Indios of Mexico and points south.  No Aztecs, Mixtecs, or others have any claim to the territory of the USA, and every last one of them (regardless of place of birth) should be sent packing yesterday.

To back up this claim, can you estimate, with evidence, the volume of immigration of non-Chinese into China, non-Koreans into Korea, and non-Japanese into Japan, relative to the size of the host population? If the answer in all three cases is "negligible", what makes this natural anthropological force so selective?

The world has really become a global village Randall. Nations in today's world have become obsolete and outdated

The Mexican government disagrees.

http://thehill.com/opinion/letters/6805-mexican-consulates-in-us-are-aiding-illegal-immigrants

just like slavery became so, back in the 19th century, although there are many in the South who still haven't noticed.

Indeed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_trafficking_in_Mexico

Make no mistake, in the near future it is not you who will decide or not to put up with immigrants, but immigrants will choose if they want to put up with you

Whether the Mexican government is right or not, we can be sure of one thing: you believe that blood and race is here to stay, and that the freely chosen domination of one race by another, now and in the future, is inseparable from immigration.

So let's be honest about Randall's materialistic decaying values

Let's suppose Randall's values are indeed materialistic. With what force does he hold onto his materialism, to judge from his behavior? Is Randall's supposed materialism so extreme that he would freely choose to place is life in danger in order to become a little less poor, as would-be immigrants into the US readily do?

A perfect example of wishful thinking. What do you think cars run on - solar panels? You may not like nation states and gas engines but they are not obsolete. I think gas engines might fade in the future but given humans tribal nature the nation state is not going anywhere for a long time.

Hispanic Descendant, you must really like parading around the fact that the government defends your right to invade the land of the people it is supposed to be protecting from invaders. Agreed, this is just in the nature of civilization: To centralize authority to the point that it becomes corrupt and turns on the people. And, agreed, any people that puts up with being so abused is going the way of the dodo and "may just as well accept it".

However, you seem to forget one thing:

We built this civilization up on which the government depends. We can take it down and have a much higher survival rate than you.

You don't believe it?

Let's roll.

@ Hispanic Descendant

Speaking of materialism, I have no objection to poor people. I object to those without the capability to create a higher standard of living electing politicians to steal money out of my pockets. I also object to the importation of poor people to drive down wages on Americans who are already poor.
