If American Guns Wrecking Mexico Why Not Canada?
Barack Obama: "Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States."
Wow. So now I am now very concerned about violence, corruption, lawlessness, and dangerous towns in Canada. We've got lots of guns. They can easily pass over our much much longer border with Canada. What's to stop the guns from causing a breakdown in Canadian governance?
Oh Canada. How you can stay stable next to destabilizing America?

Because guns and drug cartels go together. Drug cartels receive tons of cash from the good consumers of the USA and that cash is then used to undermine governance by the state.
It's weird to simultaneously blame America for selling guns to Mexicans and buying drugs from Mexicans. Why wouldn't it be equally logical to blame Mexicans for buying guns from Americans and selling drugs to Americans?
US guns are blamed for blacks killing each other in Toronto:
in order for me to out-perfrom Elvis, what will be the job requirents? (other than being a paki with an iq of 89 who's convinvced Randall parker that he's something other than a piece of brown trash?
Canadians are white. Therefore they achieve their relatively well-ordered society through white privilege which is, undoubtedly, oppressing Mexicans -- and the rest of the world-majority which is non-white -- into their sorry state of affairs. The solution? Turn over Canadian territory to immigrants. Those immigrants will have to fight it out amongst themselves as to whom has been most victimized by Canadian white privilege -- although if I were to lay odds, I'd say the non-whiter the better their odds of laying claim to the grand prize of victimhood.
@Stephen: there are also plenty of drugs that flow from Canada into the USA - MDMA and marijuana, for example. Oddly however the money collected by the Canadian drug smugglers doesn't seem to be used to build up paramilitary organizations. Go figure.
James, Should the Canadians look for immigrants who know how to use guns? I mean, is our huge supply of guns wasted on Canadians? I figure they've got more hunters up there, what with all the wilderness space to hunt in. Though I'm guessing. But maybe their city people do not know how to use guns?
Faruq, I think your problem is that you haven't found the right meds to handle your depression.
Stephen, So then Canada is deficient in drug cartels?
FredR, I'm not clear on it but I do not think everyone is held as being equally capable to act as a moral agent. Somehow they're held to have the same rights but not all the same responsibilities.
"Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States."
Well, yes, and a lot of them got in through Operation Fast and Furious. Funny he didn't mention that.
It's not even true. Most of the TRACEABLE guns came from the US, but lots are unserialized weapons manufactured for e.g. foreign militaries and cannot be traced (and obviously could not have come from US retail channels).
I think it's even *worse* than that. From my understanding it's the "majority of TRACEABLE guns that have been RELIABLY TRACED TO THEIR POINT OF ORIGIN". In other words, "the majority of guns that we've traced to the US have come from...the US".
I think I saw somewhere too the fraction of guns with SN#s was somewhere in the 3% range. And about half of those were traceable. And the left wonders why nobody will engage them on guns...b/c they flatly LIE from the outset.
Well, obviously it is not guns that wreck a country. It's lack of education and proper nutrition.
Check it out,
Mexico is one of the most obese nations in the world. Not as fat as America, but close. If the poor couldn't afford food that wouldn't be the case.
Lack of education: pass books around. It is not hard to read or to get reading material.
Yep, obesity and lack of education now runs wild in Mexico. Ultra-right wing and fascist governments have really made a mess in both countries. How could we have expected something better? We'll continue to see all sorts of absurd shootings, bombings, drugh using, and suicides in both countries for a while.
On the other hand, nope. Passing books around is not necessarily a way to have an educated society. First we need to run a thorough process of detoxification from decades of junk food, junk tv, junk school programs, junk educational "psychology", junk parenting, junk laws, junk politeness, etc.
