Immigration Reduces Integration

An unsurprising result. Yet clueless academics at an Ivy League school express surprise.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] Despite increased racial and ethnic diversity, American neighborhoods continue to be segregated, and some of the progress made toward integration since 1980 has come to a halt this decade, according to a new report by Brown University sociologist John Logan. The report, co-authored by Florida State University sociologist Brian Stults, marks the launch of the US2010 project, a program of research on changes in American society, supported by the Russell Sage Foundation and Brown University.

"This is a surprising result," said Logan, director of Brown's Initiative in Spatial Structures in the Social Sciences and director of US2010. "At worst, it was expected that there would be continued slow progress. The growth of the black middle class, the passage of time since fair housing legislation was enacted, and the evidence from surveys that white Americans are becoming more tolerant of black neighbors all pointed in that direction."

The cessation of immigration in the 1920s caused integration to accelerate. Ties to the old country were cut off. No new supplies of immigrants to keep neighborhoods pure immigrant with non-English speakers talking only to each other.

If you want immigrants to integrate then bring them in in smaller numbers and do pauses that last decades. John Logan should talk to George Borjas at Harvard about how a multi-decade immigration pause would accelerate integration.

What would be the most cost efficient method of shutting down the Ivy League?

Too much collateral damage with nukes.  Taxes on foundations and endowments would get them, as well as the Ford Foundation and other bastions of the treason lobby.

Big cash scholarships and outreach for non-leftist students might help. The experience of myself and probably others here is that we realize early on that academia is a leftist joke, and moderates and non-leftists are better off in fields in which they'll be better rewarded.

I never understood the whole open borders thing. I can understand the Left's distaste for poor whites, but if one dislikes poor whites, why in God's name would one want to import a bunch of poor Hispanics? Seems like going from the frying pan to the fire, though I guess Leftists never really thought logically. They want to tear the old America down (something that has a certain appeal to me, but then again I'm young and stupid, and a terrible Asiaphile), but have no real plan for replacing it.

O'Brien, it's more than just distaste for poor whites. For some it's a desire to eliminate the possibility of a cohesive and racially aware white majority. Many Jews, for example, support and have supported mass non-European immigration because increases their influence and security by making (non-Jewish) whites less powerful. The 1965 Immigration Act could be characterized as the culmination of decades of work by open-borders Jews.

This gives me an idea for a new political strategy. We should frame the immigration issue in terms of "integrationists" (most people) and "anti-integrationists" (lefty open borders crowd). This would put the negative "anti" framing on those who should have it.

"Immigration Reduces Integration" You mean that the U.S. is then about to break appart?? Hmmm I don't think so, there's been immigration since the early 1600's and still pouring in. And it is in fact immigration that made the U.S. great. 2011 alone will provide around a million new immigrants.

It is LACK of money, LACK of employment and LACK of respect for a Constitution that reduce$$$ integration in a country.

Mohammed Atta made America great - and cost us, oh, about a trillion dollars. Every Muslim US resident combined has not contributed to this country what 19 Muslims cost us 9 years ago.

When you make a meal, do you ever just go into the kitchen and start throwing random shit together, in completely arbitrary amounts, or do you follow some kind of recipe?

If it doesn't matter where people come from, in what amounts, or what they happen to believe, then I'd suggest they stay home, because whatever random country they happen to hail from could be America, too! After all, no race, religion, political ideology, culture, language, or ethnicity "defines America." Isn't that what Lindsay Graham said? Mexico is America! Guatelama is America! Somalia is America!

"America - no matter where you are, you're already there!"

The 1920 immigration cut off allowed the U.S. to assimilate its tribes. The Irish, Jews, Poles, Italians were balkanizing into groups. Teddy Roosevelt had a famous speach about how we should be one "american" people. In particulary, Jews and Eastern Europeans were bringing Communist ideology with them, and proving to be hard to assimilate. The Communist International Movement on Germany's Eastern Flank was in full throttle, and spilling over to the rest of the world. The immigration cut off is why America could not accept Jews trying to escape Europe. The cut off was considered second only to the holocaust as damaging to Jewish interests. So, it is not hard to see why Jewish sponsored bills would appear regularly, culminating finally in the 1965 immigration act.

Our Mexinvasion was enabled partly by the 1965 immigration act. NAFTA and other supranational agreements bypass the "peoples" right to control their government. The Mexinvasion and the export of jobs overseas are both attempts to control labor. The American laborer is disenfranchised with illegal aliens on the low end, and the export of knowledge jobs on the high end. At the same time, the money system is hypothecating every blade of grass and turning it into debt money. Americans ability to be free is contingent on having control over their wealth production. Our ability to be free is going away as our fuedal overlords make their diabolical moves.
