An Example Of Obama Idolization

On the Half Sigma blog commenter "100 Miles and Running" points to a ridiculous example of liberal press love of Obama with SF Gate columnist Mark Morford besides himself in Obama idolizing.

No, this time the Dems just so happen to be blessed beyond human comprehension with something very unique indeed, a true golden ticket, a magic death-ray force field of intellectual virtuosity even they don't seem to fully comprehend or know how to keep up with. They have Barack Obama himself.

Truly, the man outpaces and outshines even his own party. At nearly every turn, Obama often seems to be merely tolerating the whole two-party system, the whole D.C. dance he's forced to waltz, all of it merely a distraction to getting things done. It's as though he's an entirely new political mechanism, and the Dems just happen to be lucky enough to be the party that's most aligned with it. Meanwhile, it's all apparently driving the opposition party -- quite literally -- insane.

Of course these sorts of extremes of happiness do not last. Clinton eventually wore on his party. George W. Bush made a lot of Republicans sick of him too. Eventually the ecstatic feelings will start to wear off for at least some of the Obamanatics.

On the bright side the newspapers are going broke. So every week fewer nutty columnists get paid to spout nonsense.

Want to create a specialty blog that will serve a historically useful function? Just collect ravings by commentators and reporters about Obama and write a blog that just posts these outpourings of worship and delusion. You won't even have to comment on the emotional outpourings.

In the medium term there'll be many more columnists - opinion writers are a lot cheaper than journalists.

The newspapers are looking for bailouts. It's possible they won't be going bankrupt after all, and when the government is their source of funding this sort of praise for the Dear Leader may become standard operating procedure.

David, fear not. Senator Kerry is on the job!

Obama is a pipe dream come true for liberals. Obama has built his external personality around satisfying white liberal needs. It's similar to the movie "My Fair Lady" in which prof. Higgins takes a (white) lower class cockney girl ("Allo Gov'ner") and gives her voice lessons, posture training, a new wardrobe, and turns her into the image of a fine lady. Liberals feel they have accomplished the same thing with Obama, hence their gushing. In effect they are saying "All our hard work has finally paid off". They have created (they think) the ultimate liberal Oreo.

Privately, Obama surely resents this. I think he must hate the liberals. There is no way he could fashion his external personality to please someone else without having a lot of demons.

I admit it: I fell for the idea that Obama would be too smart and too elitist to go for hard left and black nationalist nonsense. The neocons (Hannity, Limbaugh) understand something I didn't: that elites frequently do not side with other elites, they side with non-elites of their own culture/race. Of course the main reason why Hannity and Limbaugh understood this phenomena was not their deep insight and intelligence, but their own experience--Hannity and Limbaugh will immediately side with working class whites over non-Euro elites. Indeed, the Hannitys and Limbaughs of the world often side with humble illegal aliens over snobbish model minorities.

I am almost certain that Hannity and Limbaugh would admire an illegal alien working for $6.15 an hour over a pot-smoking, snobby college student--especially an East Asian or other nonwhite. Which to be honest, is the main reason I do not like them or other neocons very well.

I consider Limbaugh to be an elite. Well, that illegal might be an example of the much praised Protestant Work Ethic, but he is harmful to Americans since he devalues low skilled work by simply working hard and being in the labor force. The low-skilled labor market is a zero sum game.

If the snobby, pot-smoking college student does not have a job, but yet sounds like an arrogant philosopher king, well, at least he isn't harming anyone by being "productive" -- in other words -- being in the labor force devaluing other people's labor. The immigrant harms people by taking jobs, the snobby college student is just arrogant.

If he sides with working class whites, he should dislike the immigrant, not the arrogant philosopher king.

Obama is the savior of all humanity. He is the one prince of peace beyond understanding. Happiness is now ours for the taking, simply reach out and pluck it off the tree. Drink in the draught of blessed vitality and wisdom. He is come to save the planet from evil carbon and wicked capitalists. He will destroy the great Satan and make the world safe for those of middling IQ and conceptual capacity. It is heaven for men and death for the oppressors. Justice at last.

Josh, don't ger your hopes up. Obama will not do anything useful at all. Bernanke would just print money, that's the only major policy change the US will have.

Obama, unfortunately, will not have any labor market reforms. For example, he not put people in trainee and education positions to reduce unemployment in the ways that Sweden and Denmark have. At least Anders Borg is doing something about it. See this.

Glad to see at least someone is making use of the Rodong Sinmun stylebook.
