Tom Tancredo Considers Presidential Run In 2008

Tom Tancredo is my top choice for the next President of the United States.

The four-term House member met Thursday evening with members of the Christian Coalition of Iowa in Davenport before making similar stops in Cedar Rapids and Cedar Falls on Friday. He planned to leave Iowa today after a morning event in Dubuque.

"I'm here to get people to ask the question: What are you going to do about illegal immigration?" Tancredo told The Des Moines Register in a telephone interview Friday. "And if I can help elevate this issue to where it really does command the debate, I will have done my job. If no one else will take up this issue in the presidential campaign, then I will."

My guess is he will run. If he runs then he will have many very motivated supporters. So he has a fair shot at getting the Republican nomination. He'd be a huge turn-about from George W. Bush.

No,he doesn't,but he has a fair shot at making immigration a major issue and forcing both parties to take concrete positions on it,much as Perot did wiht deficit spending and job exporting.
Adopting a strong restrictionist and border control position would solidify the black vote for Dems and give them a shot at blue collar and middle class white collar voters, but it would require them to strongly and visibly distance themselves from the radical left and Hollywood on "moral values" and national security.

The REpublicans under Bush will do nothing, except promote amnesty by other names. They've already pulled back from funding more border agents, quietly,of course.GOP chairman Mehlman's declaration that the effort to attract the conservative white voters being purged from by Democrats was a big embarrassing mistake simply shows how out of step the party elite is and how much they actually disdain their own base.

Considering how the base seems happy to lap up utter bullshit, why shouldn't the powers that be have contempt for them?

The fact that Tancredo has a shot at the presidential nomination, is a complete debacle for the antipatriotic moderate right. Their traitorism depends on there being no opposition, especially not in a major party. They will stop at nothing in terms of smear tactics to prevent this from happening, but they will not be able to come up with rational arguments. they will make common cause with Soros and his mischief making leftist organization. This could easily backfire, building up support for Tancredo, and taking down Republican leaders wholesale. Are they for the citizen, or the foreign hostiles, may become the question.

The Democrats would never nominate an immigration restrictionist candidate. I think the Republicans would if he was an important leader in their party.

It is a rare case when there is all upside and no downside for the patriotic folks.
Tom Tancredo (TT) is one issue candidate and is not going to be nominated. It seems that he knows that.
Repubclicrat smear machine will dump on TT and will make him an extremist. But he will be in Repubs debates and
will have national TV for a few minutes.

It is probably sufficient to put a harsh light on Repub open border traitors. An eventual Repub winner will have to make some noises about the issue or he will loose. In either case TT will become a national figure with a national powerbase to scrutinize free traitors policies.

You can run in the election if youre rich enough, or have rich friends otherwise you have a hope in hell of getting in.

The US electorate seems to tolerate the idea of a two party state, where the difference over policies can be summarised as being very close.
