James Taranto Sees February 2003 Iraq War Start

Using the text of the UN resolution as his guide he sees Feb. 11, 2003 as the day by which the inspectors will have to have reported back in some manner to the Security Council.

The resolution instructs the inspectors "to resume inspections no later than 45 days following adoption of this resolution and to update the Council 60 days thereafter"--that is, by Feb. 11. Presumably everything will be in place by then for the bombs to start falling the next day.

You can read the full text of the UN Security Council Resolution on Iraq here.

so you are so intrested in stoping the war huh. well are you pro-life or what. do you know what sadam and his sons used to do when he was in power. now i acknowledge your right to choose to want to stop the war but. through war we find peace for most that is the ultimate goal. to find peace. i am pro-life i feel everyone deserves a good happy life but in order to ensure peace and happiness you must first have war and anger and death. the world is not perfect you know and some people wont learn through talk and negotiation. it is better to take the first strike to them then allow them to be the ones with the initiative and to set foot on american soil. look i doubt very seriously that anything i say to you will have any effect on your position but i hope you listened to me because if everyone was peacful then there would be no war but since most people are not peaceful then we are going to be doomed to conflict and the only way to end that conflict is to take a stand. and show everybody that we are not going to allow attacks on our citizens. i know this letter is not gramaticly correct however i am sure you understand what i am trying to say to you.

sincerly,

B

Most people believe in a police force to protect their homes and yet are against war! The army is just an extended police force that protects its country!
